Synopsis

The electoral political communication that will unfold during the 2021 presidential campaign for Ecuador’s general elections faces a particular scenario, shaped by the Covid-19 pandemic, which will be a determining strategic factor for the candidates. The media will play different roles, with a notable prominence of digital media, often saturated with unethical strategies such as fake news, which will overshadow the issues that truly matter to society and shift the campaign’s focus toward systematic attacks among candidates.
