Synopsis

This project was authored by a team of researchers who are part of a national academic consortium entitled Leadership in English Academic Research Network (LEARN). The network serves not only to produce scholarships to train researchers but to promote academic inquiry on English language teaching and learning in Ecuador. Both the design and implementation of this project —since its inception— were horizontal and local, meaning that researchers were organized into groups according to geographical zones that are used by the Ministry of Education to organize educational institutions across the country. Decisions were made through consensus among all participating members, with administrative leadership provided by a designated member of each regional team.
