If for many, Latin America is the "homeland" of the literary short story in Spanish, Javier Vasconez's work is undoubtedly one of its highest coasts. His stories recreate a world inhabited by characters who wander in search of their most forbidden dreams, who travel through different environments -Quito, Prague, Barcelona-, who meet and misencounter those who could save them, and who succumb to a destiny whose fatality they may have foreseen.
