Synopsis

Sartre's existentialism poses, like all great philosophy, the need to stop lying to ourselves. We can always find excuses, build artificial worlds, but we are the only duels of our lives; not of the facts that happen to us, but of the interpretation we make of them. For this reason it is necessary to stop looking for meaning in life because it, in itself, is absurd. The task before us is more frightening, but, at the same time, more delightful: we have to create the meaning of our lives.
