R-ZINE Vol. 2
Keywords:
music, women, cultureSynopsis
R-ZINE Volume II focuses on exploring the contribution of women in the local independent scene. This book/zine integrates diverse forms of writing such as journalistic investigations, interviews, dialogues, experimental and performative writing and is illustrated by Polett Zapata. Following the independent spirit of Radio COCOA, the R-ZINE series of publications seeks to become a document that evidences the cultural legacy that independent music has built and continues to build. For this reason, the texts that make up the first volume reflected on the capacity of the independent scene to create a bridge with the mestizo, indigenous and Afro-descendant traditions of the country and the region. For this second volume, continuing with the purpose of documenting and giving value to this music, the central theme explores the important but often undervalued contribution of women in Ecuador's independent music. In this sense, all the texts are about women or written by women.
